Mission
GIR aims to contribute to the achievement of a more just and
sustainable economy through the development, practice and promotion
of socially responsible investment.
The GIR Team
Olivier Gamache is the new Chief executive officer of GIR inc. He holds an undergraduate degree in finance from HEC Montreal. He previously worked as a portfolio manager for a private investment company and private fondation named after his late grandfather François Bourgeois.

François Meloche was a researcher at Michael Jantzi
Research Associates (MJRA) before joining GIR. François specializes in
environmental and international human rights issues and corporations.
François has worked with a number of organizations including the
Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (the leading US
shareholder activist network), the Council on Economic Priorities
and environmental groups located in Montreal, Toronto, New York and
Amsterdam. He holds a BA in agricultural economics from McGill
University.

Rosalie Vendette is an analyst responsible for the management of proxy voting and is a specialist in corporate governance. She is a graduate of HEC and worked for several years in Sales and Marketing for Clearnet, later known as TELUS Mobilité, in Toronto and Montreal.

Catherine Mercure is the administrative assistant at GIR. She has a diploma in Business Administration. Before joining the GIR team in September 2003, she worked for two years in the Administration of Settlements Department at the insurance company Canada Life, in their Montreal office.

François Rebello is co-funder and former Chief executive officer of GIR inc.
GIR. He still provides services for GIR, as a consultant, to ensure a smooth transition. In the past François was president of both Force Jeunesse (lobby group
representing young workers and professionals), and of the Quebec
Federation Students. He holds an undergraduate degree in political
science and is presently completing a master's degree in economics.
François led the major FTQ project that led to the creation of GIR,
and has extensive research experience in economic and political
issues.
